After Fisker went bankrupt, Chinese auto parts giant Wanxiang purchased its assets, rebranded the company as Karma, and launched a new era starting with the Revero—an updated version of the Fisker Karma.

But Karma didn’t follow Tesla’s all-electric path. Instead, they doubled down on EREVs—vehicles that can handle daily commutes on electric power alone but carry a small gas engine to keep the battery charged on longer trips. No range anxiety, no compromises.

Now, with the electric vehicle market seeing a slowdown in pure BEV demand, Karma is leaning into what it does best—and that’s where the 2027 Amaris comes in.

The 2027 Karma Amaris: A Real EREV Sports Car

The Amaris is Karma’s bold return to a classic formula—but with modern engineering and style. Unlike the four-door sedans Karma is known for, the Amaris is a true two-door sports car, aimed squarely at drivers who crave excitement, luxury, and electric power—without the stress of limited charging networks.

A Fresh Spin on a Proven Concept

The Amaris won’t be a traditional EV. Instead, it uses Karma’s latest extended-range electric system. It runs mostly on electric power, but when the battery dips, a turbocharged four-cylinder engine steps in—not to drive the wheels, but to recharge the battery and keep things moving. It’s the same principle that made the original Fisker Karma so unique, just with modern hardware.

In a world where charging infrastructure can still be hit or miss—especially in rural areas or on long road trips—this electric-first, fuel-backed setup offers flexibility that full BEVs just can’t match right now.

Performance Specs

Karma claims the Amaris will deliver:

  • 0–60 mph in 3.5 seconds

  • Top speed of 165 mph

While horsepower numbers haven’t been published yet, the Amaris is expected to beat the Revero GT’s 536 horsepower. That puts it in good company—right alongside luxury GTs like the Maserati GranTurismo Folgore, BMW M8, and Mercedes-AMG GT.

Design That Turns Heads

This car isn’t subtle—and it’s not meant to be.

  • A long, sculpted hood and wide fender haunches give it that classic American sports car look.

  • The body features carbon fiber panels and aluminum stampings, keeping it lightweight but strong.

  • The Coke-bottle side profile and muscular stance make it look ready to pounce.

  • Doors? Oh yes—swan doors that lift upward for dramatic entry and exit.

  • It rides on 22-inch forged Constellation wheels, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.

  • Out back, there’s a pass-through rear spoiler that blends into the rear glass.

  • Side-exit exhausts are optional. Standard models will see rear-exit pipes.

One standout design cue is a sharply angled line along the side, called the “backslash”—a new signature feature Karma plans to use across all upcoming models.

What About the Interior?

Karma hasn’t shown the interior yet. It’s still under wraps. But if the brand’s previous models are any indicator, expect:

  • Premium materials

  • Clean, minimalist design

  • Driver-focused controls

  • Digital, but not overdone

We’ll see the production-intent interior at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, in August 2025—one of the most prestigious automotive events of the year.

When Can You Buy the Amaris?

Karma plans to begin production in late 2026, with customer deliveries starting in 2027.

Pricing hasn’t been announced, but given the segment, materials, and exclusivity, it’s expected to start somewhere in the $150,000 to $200,000+ range. This isn’t a mass-market EV. It’s aimed at buyers who want something rare, refined, and genuinely interesting.
